Other Coastal  Rowing Clubs

The exciting sport of Coastal Rowing has quickly grown, with many more boats currently being built by established clubs, as well as clubs who are in the process of forming in areas such as Rostrevor, Carrickfergus, and Larne to name but a few.

Ardglass

The "Ardglass Lass" was the first boat to be built and launched by the local community in Ardglass.

The Ardglass Lass has been used by both the local community and assisted other Clubs to get teams on the water throughout the rowing community.

Killyleagh Yacht Club

A number of members from Killyleagh Yacht Club built and launched the "Is Tapula" in 2016.

The boat is based at Killeyleagh Yacht Club with members racing in local regattas.

Donaghadee & South Briggs CRC

Donaghadee Coastal  Rowing Club was formed in 2014 and is growing in stature.

The club have an ongoing training programme, not only on the water but ashore.

Members compete in regattas and community and social events, a great social opportunity enjoyed by all.

The skiff is called "Governor".

Sketrick CRC

Sketrick CRC is a privately funded club whose members are friends and family of the boat owners, they try to compete in most regattas.

The newest boat "Knotty Lass" is primarily the racing skiff and "Knotty Buoy" the leisure skiff.

Portavogie CRC
Dundrum CRC

Established in 2014 Dundrum Coastal Rowing Club now has two Community Built Boats - "Danny Buoy" and "Mystic Wave".

In 2016 Dundrum became the World Skiff Champions and continues to compete successfully at regattas throughout the year.

Regular tasting sessions are held for those interested in 'having a go'.

The Black Neb Rowing Club

The Black Neb Rowing Club based in Kircubbin has gone from strength to strength with both adults and juniors regularly competing in regattas and enjoying leisure rowing around Strangford Lough each week.

We are like on big family with strangers becoming friends and team mates since joining. Everyone is welcome.

The skiffs are "The Feathers" and "Black Neb Vixen"

Killyleagh CRC

We are a community rowing club and form a very eclectic mix from 11 years of age to Senior Citizens.

We launch our Killyleagh community built St Ayles  Skiff, at the Net Walk in Killyleagh so be prepared to get your feet wet and if able bodied, you will be asked to assist with launching and retrieving "Skart "(a local name for a cormorant). Everyone welcome!

Strangford CRC

Strangford Coastal Rowing  Club has been on t he go since 2014 and has continued to be a source  of interest to locals and visitors to Strangford since then.

We have grown as a club in size and strength, with our members taking part in regattas across the world in our boats "Strangfjordr" and "Sea Swallow"

Portavogie coastal rowing club is a new club who have started their boat build whilst loaning skiffs within the community for  club activities.

They have a junior team age 11+ and men and women from all walks of life, whose main aim is to complete their own boat for the enjoyment of their members.
